COURSE FOCUS: A critical investigation of the position and category of women from a cross-cultural, historical and interdisciplinary perspective, with special emphasis on controversies, dilemmas, major themes and issues in women’s studies.
Prerequisite: junior standing or permission.
This course may be used to satisfy the diversity requirement.

The course has four locations: 1) at the Blackboard location for this class, you will find the Forum, a place to post some of the assignments, feedback for graded work, and your grades; 2) at the course web site, you will find lessons, assignments, and the course plan; 3) at Second Life, where one of the assignments will be performed. All work is online and asynchronous--you do not need to meet online with the class at any particular time. (For more information, see the Course Plan.)
