How do I get started?
You will need to sign-in at two places. The first place is at the class's Blackboard location; for this, you will need your Flashline username and password. The second place is the page of cyberroom, located at
the course web site.* You will receive a username and password to enter the cyberrooms on June 14, 2010.
What is the form structure of this class?
This class functions at two places online: 1) at the Blackboard location for this class, you will find the Forum, a place to post some of the assignments, feedback for graded work, and your grades; 2) at the course web site,* you will find lessons, assignments, and the course plan. All work is online and asynchronous--you do not need to meet online with the class at any particular time. (For more information, see the Course Plan.)
When can I start work for this class?
Officially, class starts on June 14, 2010. If you enter information on the Social Forum (about yourself) or decide to read the novels in advance, that is okay.
When must I have all my work for this class completed?
All work must be completed and submitted for evaluation by 11:59pm (EST) of July 17, 2010--absolutely no work will be accepted after that!
What happens if I am late with assigments?
As long as I get them before July 17 (see above), I will accept them, though I will have to subtract points for tardiness.
What happens if I am early with assignments?
I will not grade them until I'm ready to do so, but there's no penalty.
Do I have to meet online at a specific time?
Nope.
Are there deadlines (due dates) for this class?
Yes. (For more information, see the Course Plan.)
How do I find out my current grade?
All grades will be posted in the Grade section of this course's Blackboard. (Note: only you can access your grade, no other student.)
How do I pass this class?
Read and follow the directions for each assignment carefully. Participate in all required activities fully. Proofread all work before submitting it for evaluation. Remember that this is an intense class that only lasts eight weeks: work hard, work fast.
